Mrs. Grady

My name is Sylvia Grady, and I am very pleased to be joining the staff at Thrive Homeschool Academy as the music teacher for grades kindergarten – six! I have loved getting to know the students and look forward to our adventures in music!

I received my music education degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and I have training in both Orff and Kodaly methodologies. Much of my teaching career was enjoyed teaching general music in Colorado Springs School District #11. I also taught music in Washoe County schools located in Reno, Nevada.

When not leading students in music making, you will find me in the garden or out on the hiking trails or venturing out on a road trip. When the snow comes, I’ll be on the slopes or the snow-shoe trails. I’m married and have two grown children and two grandsons, all of whom I spend as much time with as possible. Waiting at home is our cute gray tabby cat and our fluffy, white, standard poodle.
